February is American Heart Month

February is American Heart Month and the American Heart Association would like to remind you that heart disease is the number one killer in the United States. The main culprit is too much cholesterol in the bloodstream, so avoiding heart disease can be as simple as changing your diet.

Omega-3 fatty acids found in tuna, herring and salmon can prevent blood clots from forming. Soluble fiber found in foods like oat bran, vegetables and fruit can also reduce the level of harmful cholesterol in your blood. Goods to avoid include excess coffee, alcohol and salt. Fatty foods such as red meat and dairy products can also lead to clogged arteries. So, eat smart and healthy!

Gate Reminders

It's nice to live in a community with access gates; however, it's not very nice when residents or guests fail to use common sense when entering or exiting the property. The gate is designed to allow one vehicle through at a time. Please do not try to sneak in behind the car in front of you. This is a potential danger, not only to your car, but our property as well!

Sunset Point Simple Maintenance Solutions!

Here are a few easy maintenance tricks that you can try!

*Does your lock stick*

Apply a light lubricating oil and work the lock back and forth a few times. It'll work great!

*Trying to get tape off of your walls or windows?*

If cellophane or masking tape is stuck on walls or cabinets, warm the adhesive underneath with a hair dryer set on low. Peel back the tape gently.

*White rings on your wood furtniture?*

Rub the stain with mayonnaise and white toothpaste. Wipe the area dry then polish the surface.

Dear Residents,

There is no substitute for ordinary security on your part, however, if you aren't aware, we have a Courtesy Officer who monitors the premisess after hours. His name is Stan Henry with the Arlington Police Department. He is responsible for monitoring the pools, making patrols in the evenings and responding to any after hours noise complaints. Please note that Officer Henry is a representative of Sunset Point and any reports that we receive from him with failure to comply will result in a lease violation, which could ultimately lead to an eviction.

Please remember that Officer Henry is here for the benefit of our Sunset Point Residents.
